STOP OPEN DEFECATION NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Open defecation is the practice of attending to natures call in the bush, at the beach,
in drains, dump sites, at homes wrapped in black polythene bags and dropped on
the streets and at the cemeteries. This has become one of the innumerable sanitation
challenges faced the country and is a dent on the African Continent.
Cemeteries have been marked for bereaved families to lay their dead to rest however,
it has become an abode for weed smokers who defecate at the cemetery and
desecrate the dead.
The stench at the cemetery is however unbearable thereby
making the environment unclean and hygienically unhealthy for residents living
around the cemetery area.
Just as the living want to stay in a clean environment, so would the dead.
Whose responsibility is it to change the status quo? Is it only the government and stakeholders in the sanitation industry? Many a times, we blame government for not making the adequate provisions and not enforcing laws on the Assemblies but a question I always ask is, who is actually responsible?
As "citizens and not spectators", we have to change our mentality and instead complement the efforts of government by saying no to "Open Defecation". This problem can only be resolved only through collectivism.
